MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Raid on Naples. DESCRIPTION: The bombing of Italy has also begun with Liberators attacking Naples. SHOTLIST: Crews in desert come out of bell tent, various Liberators scattered over aerodrome, engines turning over. Crews climbing aboard. CU name of machine. CU engine turning over. LS of Liberators. Pilot in cockpit of plane. Various angle shots of planes. Liberators taking off. LS in sky. MS inside various cabins. Look down shot at Liberator in flight - very effective. Liberators over sea. ‘Zombie’ marked on plane with Popeye. Gunner looks out of mid-turret. GS of one engine. Aerial shot of Naples. Flak coming up. Bomb hits shown, smoke commences to rise. Small fires start. GS on rear & mid gunners. Turret (rear) traversing etc. CU. Wheel as Liberator takes off, & same being hydraulically lifted up under wing. Liberator into camera take off. Cut story - Crews going aboard, Libs. taking off, various shots in sky, look down shot at Liberator, inside pilots cabin, gun turret centre & end. Aerial shot of target, bombs falling, hits registered, smoke rising.
