- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Training Glider Pilots. DESCRIPTION: As the demand for airborne troops is going to increase, British army pilots are undergoing intensive training in gliders. SHOTLIST: The army’s new Airborne wing is seen with gliders for the first time. Shots and shoulder flashes of the gliders being towed off the ground by bi-planes which I think are either Hawker Hearts or Hawker Furies. Once in the air the tow-ropes are cast and the Gliders drift down to earth where they land. One shot shows the tow-ropes leaving the tug-plane and dropping to the ground. The end of this story was covered by the ‘Victory V’ song. Note - Owing to security requirements this is about all that can be said about this story. Back view of pilot in glider.
