Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Desert Convoy Gets Through. DESCRIPTION: Newsreel cameraman Ashwood joined a convoy in Libya that was taking supplies through to the front. SHOTLIST: Under heavy shell-fire from the enemy, the MT drivers carry on doing a magnificent job in bringing up supplies to the front lines, of the Desert battlefield. These men have to fight against sand-storms, and heat and also, when travelling across open country in convoy a thick trail of dust is thrown up by the lorries, which makes then easily spotted and open to attack from the enemy by air or shelling. Somewhere in the "Knightsbridge" Area 1. Vehicles on the move, taking up positions in the convoy. 2. Part of the long line of trucks moving slowly forward, showing the tell-tale cloud of dust. 3. Close-up of some of the trucks passing camera. 4. Officer in leading truck. CU? 5. Later in the day, as the vehicles rumble along a track in the escarpment and come under shell-fire. 6. Shots of shells bursting. 7. After the shelling the men halt to make a brew before completing their journey. 8. Various shots and close-ups of a few of the drivers and their trucks in the convoy. 9. Excellent close-up of Ashwood, Pathe Cameraman, grinning into the camera.
