- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mr Churchill Broadcasts. DESCRIPTION: Having served two years as Prime Minister, Mr Churchill choose the occasion to make a broadcast. SHOTLIST: A story made up from Library material illustrating Mr Churchill’s broadcast. He says amongst other things, that the Germans "can go out into the fields watch the home fires burning". The story starts with Churchill on his way to the house, the shot in which the girl selling flags in the background. A library shot of him entering the BBC studio and CU at the "mike". Shots of artillery firing, tanks, goods on train, shots taken from the underground magazine story. Gun manufacture. Mass shot of tanks (the famous shot). Bomb train - Stirling flying - interior shot of pilot at controls - good shots of bombs dropping - stills of Rostock and Lubeck. Night shot of fire blazing. Churchill walking through crowd waving hat - through blitz ruins - twirling hat on stick etc. In extra scenes are various decent shots including a Wellington taking off.
