- Pathe synopsis: For an adult version of playing with boats in the bath, we visit St Albans, Hertfordshire, where reseasrch is carried out [at the Vickers Armstrong expermental tank] on behalf of the British Shipbuilding Research Association. The ‘bath’ is 440 ft. long and the model ships are 15 ft. scale models of the real things, specially built for testing and research purposes. Ingenious machines calculate the stresses and stsrains encountered in different sea conditions - simulated by a wave-maker.
