Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: General Smuts in Western Desert. DESCRIPTION: Field Marshal Smuts inspects South African troops in Egypt. Mrs Sumts hosts a tea party for the troops at the YMCA in Cairo. SHOTLIST: Field Marshal Smuts flies in a bomber escorted by ‘Hurricanes’ and ‘Tomahawk’ fighters, flying in formation. He lands and is met by General Brink with whom he carries out an inspection. Meanwhile, at the YMCA in Cairo, Mrs Smuts holds a tea and darts party.
