- Summary
- Christmas is a time of lights and colour. And in this Canadian City MONTREAL everything possible is done to make it a winter wonderland for youngsters. Nearer home the streets of DUBLIN are ablaze with festive decorations. It’s a sad time for many Irishmen who can’t get home this Christmas. So here’s a chance to see the lights of home. Back in London, Pathe News began a race against the clock to see the lights of three cities. LONDON was aglow with yuletide decorations. The shops, the streets, and Trafalgar Square presented a brilliant array of night-time colour. Our cameraman filmed it - unclipped the magazine from his camera and handed it to a despatch rider who made for London Airport. A quick hop over to BRUSSELS - just time for a Belgian cameraman to film the lights of the City before a jetliner took off for NEW YORK with the same film magazine aboard. According to the clock, it was only two hours later when the plane touched down at KENNEDY AIRPORT and a waiting cameraman flew to the heart of the city to film the scene - we’d started in London - finished in New York - all in the same colourful evening.
