The content is organised under two main tabs, Find DVDs and Find Blu-ray and searches can be limited to USA, UK, Canada or other countries. Further filters can be applied by selecting a specific release week; links to relevant retail outlets are also provided. The home page lists the ‘100 most collected directors’ and a link to their own Youtube Channel which offers help on how to pick ‘good’ titles, how to find films by ‘your favourite director’ and how to use ‘UPC importer’ to add your online collection to their database.

The BBC Reminiscence Archive provides access to a selection of content from the BBC Archives, designed to support reminiscence therapy. The principle of reminiscence therapy is to assist people who have dementia to interact and converse in a natural way by stimulating their long-term memory with material from the past. A number of reminiscence systems have been developed for people with dementia. RemArc is the BBC’s contribution to this growing set of supports for people with dementia and their carers. The site is organised by Themes (such as Animals, Music, Sport, Events etc.) and Decades. Users can choose whether to have Image, Audio or Video content. The results are randomised each visit, however items can be ‘favourited’ to return to later and there is an ‘information’ icon which displays a brief description of the item being viewed.

The London Project is a study of the film business in London, 1894-1914, organised by the AHRB Centre for British Film and Television Studies. One of its major outcomes is a database of information about cinemas and film businesses in London before the First World War. Users can search by name of venue or business (eg, cinema, producer etc.), London borough, address (ie. street name) and classification. The information used to build the database has come from contemporary trade papers and directories, newspapers, local government records, Board of Trade files, memoirs and London borough archives.

This site offers a vast amount of information about broadcasting history, covering (despite the name) television and radio, mainly in the USA and Canada but also venturing as far afield as the UK and Australia. Of particular value to researchers are the wide range of digitised, searchable periodicals and journals which, although the main focus of the site is on the early days of broadcasting also stretch as far as the 21st century. NB. It is not clear to what degree rights have been cleared for some of the material on this site. David Gleason, who maintains the site, operates on a basis of ‘if the owner of the material complains I will take it down’ - rather than seeking permission beforehand.
