The Video History Project aims to identify, locate, and make accessible media history resources, for example tapes, writings, interviews, biographies and ephemera etc, to increase public awareness of the media. It documents video art and community television as it evolved in rural and urban New York State, and across the US.

Scran contains 360,000 multimedia resources (pictures, reconstructions, audio, video and virtual reality) representing material culture and human history from the media, museums, galleries, archives, libraries and universities (over 300 UK partners but predominantly in Scotland). There are over 5,000 video clips in the collection. It maintains a fully searchable online resource bank and registered users may download copyright cleared resources for teaching and learning. Key subject areas are Arts (Art & Design, Architecture, Language and Literature), Social Sciences (History, Geography, Archaeology) and Education.

Creative Skillset is the Creative Industries’ Sector Skills Council (SSC) which comprises TV, film, radio, interactive media, animation, computer games, facilities, photo imaging, publishing, advertising and fashion and textiles. Its aim is to support the productivity of the industry to ensure that it remains globally competitive. This is an international guide to photographic libraries with emphasis squarely on the commercial sector, although museum collections are also included. The is nicely organised and provides bare minimum but still adequate levels of information. Also included are sections devoted to film footage sources, clip art and a series of links to selected sites that feature graphic animations.
