The Live Art Archives holds information about existing Live Art and Performance Art materials, records and publications primarily in England and the UK. The database of events seems not to be as comprehensive as when it was first created by Nottingham Trent University in 1997, but it was a useful search facility, and the site has valuble contact lists, details of courses, archives, databases and venues. Now based at Bristol University.

The archive offers a complete database and on-line video streaming of all 450 films made by the film department of Arts Council England between 1953 and 1998 and several films produced before 2003 by the dance Department of ACE. The films are available in digital form as the result of a three-year project by the University of Westminster and access is free of charge to UK further and higher education institutions. The collection provides a unique record of British and international post-war art, as well as of documentary film-making in the UK. Many titles in the collection contain rare material about individual artists, while others offer definitive coverage of their subject. Artists featured include Bacon, Spencer, Hockney, Moore and the Young British Artist (YBA) group. Some of the best filmmakers in the UK, including Anthony Minghella and Isaac Julien, were commissioned to make films for the collection. As well as focusing on individual artists, architects, writers and poets, the films document particular art movements that have continued to influence contemporary British Art, such as Surrealism, Dadaism, Futurism and Kinetic art.

The site began by concentrating on explaining the holdings and workings of the BBC Archives, using short videos, accompanied by written text, and frequently-asked questions. Separate pages cover different aspects of the Archive and issues relating to them - television, sound, written, photographic, contributor rights, preservation and cataloguing, test cards and ceefax, the bits between programmes, and the BBC Heritage Collection. Since 2008 the website has diversified to include themed collections of archival radio and TV programmes (streamed complete or as extracts), documents and photographs. Topics currently featured include the Holocaust, Cuba and the Cold War, Doctor Who, WW2 relations with the USSR, Francis Bacon, the birth of the NHS, survivors of the Titanic, and working class life. Also available are the complete series of David Atttenborough’s 1956 ZOO QUEST FOR A DRAGON and MEN AND MONEY (1964), and the first BBC colour series from 1957, WHAT WE WORE, on the history of fashion. The front Archive page also links to other sections of the BBC website that host archival collections - IN OUR TIME, Radio 3 World Music Archive, WOMAN’S HOUR, World Service Archive, and clips from PLANET EARTH and AUTUMNWATCH in the Wildlife Finder.

This site archives the material that was part of the material created by and for the Somewhere art organisation led by artists Karen Guthrie & Nina Pope. On 20th March 2002 it presented the live internet broadcast "TV swansong" - an homage to TV past, present and future. This project is described as "a cross-media art project commissioning 8 new works which reflect on the current state of flux in television with idiosyncratic responses to its past, present and future." The site’s layout in fairly simple, while the graphics appear to be deliberately rough and chaotic. Originally available free in 30 sites in the UK, the original 11 broadcasts by 8 artists can be viewed using Real Player at three speeds, while a couple of new pieces have since been added.
