Synopsis
Podcast hosted by Samuel Yeo, a graduate in Theatre Studies and English Literature from the Australian National University, Canberra. It explores the history of The Taming of the Shrew, from folk tales to musicals, from the Victorians to vaudeville, from an overacting Christopher Sly to Hollywood’s take on the rebel. Includes references to assorted film and television adaptations as well as music from Cole Porter’s Broadway musical Kiss Me Kate and Nino Rota’s score for Zeffirelli’s film adaptation from 1967 starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
