Towards the New Politics

Synopsis
As the 2010 election approached, the Institute for Public Policy Research (ippr) hosted a series of speeches by senior politicians and leading thinkers to set out their vision of a progressive future for Britain. In the first, held on 2 February, the then Prime Minister, Rt. Hon Gordon Brown MP, discussed plans to make parliament more accountable, calling for constitutional reform to change the way parliament works. Produced as a live webcast and subsequently streamed as a video from the website and also available as an audio podcast. A pdf transcript is also available. (28 minutes)
