Synopsis
Radio broadcast from the new Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon. Speeches following luncheon in honour of Shakespeare’s Birthday are held by Alderman Sir A. D. Flower, Mayor of Stratford, Sir F. Benson delivers the toast of ‘The Immortal Memory’, Rt. Hon. Stanley Baldwin addresses ‘Representatives of the Nations’ and French Ambassador M. de Fleuriau replies. The opening ceremony and speech are given by the Prince of Wales; descriptive commentary by Percy Edgar.
