Synopsis
Documentary compilation. A commemoration of the coronation of King George VI, released during coronation week. It relates the story of the British Empire from 1895 to George’s proclamation as king. Concludes with a shot of the new king and a recitation of John of Gaunt’s speech ‘This royal throne of Kings, this scepter’d isle’ (II i).
