Empty Desert, The

Synopsis
An account of life in the Namib desert and of the adaptations of animals to life at very high daytime temperatures and virtually no rainfall. Shows the importance of the deposition of water by the diurnal fog (due to the cold Benguela Current) and some special adaptations to this feature. Discusses and illustrates behavioural adaptations of both prey and predator, diurnal and nocturnal species.
