The key to future profits is something portable and friendly and linked to a stream of digital information. From the computer in our pocket we will tap into everything from electronic mail to airline schedules, from electronic pets to digital reproductions of the paintings of the Louvre. Asks whether the industry is leading the consumer, or whether this technology is really needed.
