Beyond the Bounds

Synopsis
Based on an exhibition held in 1996 at the ETN Conference, Manchester, this pack explores the boundaries between basketry and textiles, and identifies new potential in fibre artistry. Many of the works included defy categorisation, standing as sculpture in their own right, made possible through the artist’s understanding of the materials used. Sculpture, fine and textile art, basket-making and environmental art have served as sources of inspiration for the artists featured.
