Synopsis

Shows how society’s image of Sir Isaac Newton, widely regarded as the greatest scientific hero of all time, has changed dramatically several times since his death, with each change reflecting the mood of individual political or cultural eras. Also looks at the Newton who emerges from close scrutiny of his unpublished manuscripts.
