Nutritional Anthropometry

Synopsis
Explains the importance of nutritional anthropometry in assessing the health of populations. Looks at ways in which anthropometry can be used to monitor health and development projects, identify disadvantaged areas, and determine which individuals are in need of food supplementation. Demonstrates how to take the most common measurements in children and adults, including height, length, weight and arm circumference, and shows how the data are used. Outlines the calculations used to work out the main nutritional indices from the International Reference Standards tables, such as weight-for-age and weight-for-length, and describes their relative merits.
