Synopsis
Covers basic nutritional concepts including digestibility, biologic value, and palatability/acceptability. Describes nutrients needed by cats (protein, fat, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins), and water requirements. Discusses feeding at all stages of life, under various conditions (stress, pregnancy, etc) and looks at types of food, how much to feed and how often, interpretation of information on pet food labels, health risks associated with improper feeding, and obesity.
