Motion Perception (2 Parts)
- Synopsis
- Part 1 illustrates how stimuli moving in two-dimensional space are perceived by the viewer. Uses computer-generated stimuli and movements of human subjects to show how motions are seen and analysed in terms of groups and sub-groups. Ends by demonstrating the even more complex case of three-dimensional motion.
Part 2 demonstrates the tendency to perceive changing stimulus patterns as three-dimensional changes. Uses computer-generated stimuli and movements of human subjects to show information necessary to give rise to the concept of 3-D. Motion patterns, changes of size and length are illustrated alone and in combination and their resulting effects are specified. - Language
