Description
Michael Parkinson interviews mime artist Marcel Marceau on his career and admiration for Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy. Parkinson then interviews performer and actor Victor Spinetti on his life and working with Joan Littlewood on Oh What a Lovely War, including phone-in questions from listeners. Alan Clark then presents the 11 o’clock news; Bob Morrison(?) reports on a train crash at Reading; Graham Majin reports on deals to sell new cars. Nicky Broyd also reports on updates to Enid Blyton’s Noddy children books, removing racist references. Parkinson and Spinetti answer more listeners’ questions before speaking to Spike Milligan on the phone on his new television programme on Muzak, before speaking to Larry Dann, an old friend of Spinetti’s. Also includes 10.30 news with Alan Clark, including an appeal from Detective Superintendent John McAment(?) to Peter Donaldson to return a missing Worcester girl, and AA Traffic Watch with Steve Watts.
