Description

Catherine Bayfield reports on the failure of Louis Bleriot III, a middle-aged French businessman, to re-enact his grandfather’s first flight across the Channel in 1909 as he is too heavy. A vintage Bleriot Type XI monoplane was instead piloted by Gloria Pullan. Includes interviews with Louis Bleriot III; Gerry(?) Duckham, Duckham’s oil; Paul Watkins, Dover Council.
