Description

The Belfast aircraft and missile firm, Shorts has been sold to a Canadian company. Ulster Secretary Tom King confirmed today that the Belfast planemakers has been bought into private hands by the Canadian firm, Bombardier. Announcing the privatisation of one of Northern Ireland’s biggest employers, King said Bombadier had been chosen after lengthy negotiations with management and unions.
