- Video recording of an illustrated lecture by Dr Kevin Gilvary, the president of the De Vere Society (which exists to promote the idea that Edward de Vere was the actual author of Shakespeare’s plays). He explores the problems faced by biographers and historians due to a lack of documentary evidence about William Shakespeare. He looks at what is known historically about Shakespeare and assumptions that have been made about him subsequently. This talk was presented at the Shakespeare Oxford Fellowship Spring 2021 International Online Symposium.
