MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: 1939 Welcomed in New York. DESCRIPTION: Revels in Times Square. SHOTLIST: Times Square - Crowds throng the square which is patrolled by police in an endeavour to keep order. Elevated nights shots of New York. Not Is Issue: International Casino - Jay C Flippen ushers on the caberet and the revelry. El Morocco - Among the revellers are John Rogers, Miss Fernanda Munn, Miss Helen Stedman, Miss Bobby Arnst, Lucius Beebe, Marquis de Pollinac, Mr and Mrs George Metaxa, Duchess Villarosa, Mrs Jas. Deering and Herman Sartorious. Paradise - The New Year is danced in and among those present is Orson Wells. Stork Club - Ely Culbertson, Mr and Mrs Eugene Morrison, Prince Alexis Sherbatow and Mrs Polly Palmer. The Ritz Brothers are there as are Lupes Valez, Edgar Hoover, Billy Rose, Eleanor Holm and Mrs Lou Holtz. In Times Square, Miss World’s Fair emerges from an egg.
