Researcher Comments
Issue number and release date unknown. Taken as unreleased.
On August 25, 1929 the D29 "Nordexpress", running from Paris to Warsaw, derailed some 300 metres north of Buir station, near the town of Düren. Due to ongoing construction work, the train was supposed to be diverted to a siding, but the train driver noticed the signal too late, entering the siding at 100 km/h instead of 50 km/h. 13 passengers were killed and 40 injured.
