Summary
BFI synopsis: The General preaching in Scotland during his motor tour of the British Isles." General Booth preaching to a crowd in the open air (27). "The General at rest." General Booth lying on his bed (36). "The lying in state." The coffin is shown lying in state, watched over by members of the Salvation Army (44). "Salvationists muster on the Embankment." Procession of Salvationists with flags and bands from the provinces (115). "Leaving the Army headquarters for the last time." The coffin is borne from the Army headquarters to the waiting hearse (168). "The procession passing through the City, of which the General was a freeman." The procession passes through a street of the City of London, the General’s son and other members of the family as chief mourners walking behind the hearse (277). "At Abney Park cemetery." Crowds gathered at the gates as the funeral procession enters Abney Park (376ft).
