Summary
Babcock and Wilcox synopsis: This opens with the loading aboard ship on Clydeside of a Renfrew-built drum for one of the 580,000 lb./hr. Babcock boilers being installed in Taaibos power station, largest in Africa. These boilers are seen during erection, including the installation of the drum from Renfrew, and the film then goes over to the works of Babcock & Wilcox of Africa where much of the equipment for the Taaibos boilers is under construction. Other African power stations are shown; and with scenes of African industry and of the flourishing city of Johannesburg, the point is made that Babcock plant is playing an important part in Africa’s economic development.
