Summary
COI synopsis: George Stephenson and Logie Baird are just two of a sterling breed of men who love inventing things: the British. Whether it’s in a tiny shed at the bottom of the garden or in a large established firm, the British inventor treads boldly where no man has trod before. Compulsive inventor Alan Freeman hasn’t let retirement stem his creative flow. An electrical engineer with over a hundred patents to his name, he’s still going strong. Alan’s current obsession is solar power; one of our greatest natural energy sources. By harnessing the sun with solar cells, he put the first solar car on the road - remarkable considering Britain’s temperate climate. Now, he has expanded the idea to boats, with a catamaran powered entirely by sunlight, and Alan has great hopes for his brainchild - a solar plane.
