- Summary
- The March of Time synopsis: The first episode of the new issue of the March of Time tells the dramatic story of Mustapha Kemal’s rise to fame and reviews the new Turkey he has brought into being.
Pictured in graphic detail is his renunciation of the Treaty of Sevres and his subsequent campaign to make Turkey a land for the Turks. In a comprehensive survey of the country we see the sweeping reforms introduced by Kemal as he forces all - beginning with his Cabinet - to learn the Latin alphabet, wear European clothes, and adopt modern methods of education. Finally, the March of Time camera-men, spending the week-end at Kemal’s country estates, secures intimate glimpses of him relaxing on his beach, his work of making Turkey a strong modern nation rapidly nearing completion. - Researcher Comments
