Summary
The March of Time synopsis: Of significant interest to every man and woman in Great Britain is the episode entitled "Conquering Cancer", which reviews the increasingly successful efforts of science to combat this most deadly disease. Sir Kingsley Wood, Britain’s Minister of Health, tells of the outstanding part played by British scientists in the world’s fight against Cancer. He emphasises the need for regular medical overhaul and the vital necessity for early diagnosis. The March of Time has taken its cameras into The Royal Cancer Hospital, London, and the leading cancer centres of America. The Surgeon-General of the United States, Dr. Thomas Passan, Junior, declares the greatest handicap in cancer research to be the lack of funds. Last year he says, less than a half million dollars was spent in the United States for this purpose, a very small percentage of the amount paid yearly by the public for fraudulent cures exploited by quacks.
The activities of the Bureau of Investigation of the American Medical Association are shown as they expose these bogus cures to a public which has in the past been tragically deceived.
