- Summary
- COI synopsis: In spite of the complex controls of technology there are still areas where our control is lost - thousands of people die every year from disease, fire, accidents on the road. This issue highlights four areas where new developments are extending our control. An expanding technology demands ever more sophisticated techniques for the control of fire - techniques which don’t expose the firemen to unnecessary risks. A new remotely controlled vehicle uses a high power spray to tackle fires too hot for firemen to handle.
