- Summary
- COI synopsis: In spite of the complex controls of technology there are still areas where our control is lost - thousands of people die every year from disease, fire, accidents on the road. This issue highlights four areas where new developments are extending our control. Radioactive therapy will destroy cancer cells - but also damage any healthy cells which may be inadvertantly exposed. A new system makes the treatment more effective by controlling precisely the area exposed to radiation and tailoring it to the complex shape of a tumour.
