- NoS Summary - A survey of some of the leisure activities enjoyed by London Transport’s 100,000 employees.
NoS synopsis: This story presents several examples of employees’ leisure pursuits - Mr. Taylor has a darkroom; Mr. Stevenson of Hanwell garage makes model ships; some play football, others the pools; Mr. Redman, foreman of the Ealing Common Depot, collects oriental china and art; there is a drama society, opera society and a military band.
The cameras then attend the London Transport Art Group Annual Exhibition at 55 Broadway. James Spitten, Associate of the Royal Academy, criticises the paintings as he is toured round the exhibition by some of the artists. The evening life class is seen at work and being instructed by their art master. - Keywords
