NCB Commentary - Selston Colliery is a big mine - more than 1/2 a million tons a year.
Plenty of big men work there, but perhaps none bigger than, 17 stone Eric Hodgkinson, otherwise known as Vince Apollo.
Eric - or Vince, take your choice - is the new European heavyweight wrestling champion. At this open air exhibition bout it’s easy to see he’s no novice at the grunt and groan game.
Yet another deciding fall to bring Vince nearer to his 500th victory in the ring. No training problems for him - his daily stint underground at Selston is all he needs to keep in trim.
