Summary
BFI synopsis: Miner Winfield takes his wife to the Festival pleasure gardens. Bob Winfield demonstrates the Meco Moore cutter at the festival then takes his wife on a short river trip to the Festival Pleasure Gardens at Battersea.
NCB Commentary - At the South Bank Festival site, Coal exhibits have an important place, but it’s the life size machines which draw the crowds. The Meco Moore cutter loader is a big attraction, and West Midlands miner Bob Winfield has a lot of explaining to do. But Bob isn’t worried - he’s a Meco driver and knows all the answers.
All the same, Bob’s glad to have an afternoon to himself now and again, and here he is with Mrs. Winfield off to the Festival Pleasure Gardens at Battersea.
A short trip on a river bus, and the Winfields are set for all the fun of the fair. A little of that goes a long way. Bob’s seen the sights: tomorrow he’s the showman again.
