British Pathe synopsis: "A piece of wood - some string or cord, and a penknife, will enable Father to mystify that growing son..." C/U of a piece of wood standing on its end. A penknife is stuck into the side of it. A man’s hands tie a piece of string around the wood over and under the penknife. The penknife is taken out and the string pulled - it unties from the wood with ease. "The secret lies in placing one particular cord end below the other. To show you more clearly we have coloured the cord black and white." The trick is again demonstrated. "Once again..." The magician demonstrates the trick very slowly. - Keywords
