NoS Summary - Woman demonstrates an easy way of keeping butter cool without a fridge.
British Pathe synopsis: "Are you troubled with this in your larder...?" C/U of woman holding a plate. On the plate is a pat of butter which has melted. "It’s butter... suffering from heat stroke. And here’s how the housewife can prevent it..." C/U of woman holding out a large dish. She puts it on the table and places a small bowl inside it. She picks up a pat of butter on the end of a knife and places it in the bowl. She then pours water from a jug into the large dish. She places a flower pot over the top of the bowl of butter. She then places a cloth over the flower pot and presses it down into the water. C/U of the woman smiling at the camera - very pleased with herself. "It only needed a tin, a basin (and butter), a plant pot, a clean absorbent cloth, and plain water."
