Summary
NoS Summary - Young women perform various exercise routines - some are schoolgirls
British Pathe synopsis: "One of the things generally overlooked in these days of high speed living, is poise. And one way of acquiring necessary looseness for poise, is by the royal road of exercises." M/S of half a dozen schoolgirls is gym kit rolling around on mats. The girls do various exercise routines. They seem to be in the grounds of a school. "The item to be careful about is not to "poise" on your head when trying this - " Four girls curl up on the mat and another somersaults over them. We see this stunt again from a low angle. "Another way of acquiring looseness and "joie de vivre". M/S of the girls doing "air cycling" we see their bottoms and legs as they lie on their backs pedalling in the air. They are on a high hillside and a town is visible below. M/S of the girls pedalling from the side. High angle shot of the girls who now lie on their backs in a star shape with one leg up in the air. "These kind of exercises would improve almost any scenery." M/S of the girls arm in arm doing a chorus line style high kick sequence. High angle L/S of the girls doing their high kicks on the mountainside. "But, passing from poise to pace, here is the best form of "going the pace" suitable for most Eves." High angle shot of a women’s relay race at an athletics track. The camera follows the race.
