Summary
NoS Summary - Two women with unusual jobs - a meteorologist and an elephant trainer.
British Pathe synopsis: "A nice new job for Eve - the lady Meteorologist. Quiet, regular and tidy..." L/S of a woman coming out of a house and looking up into the sky. Low angle shot of the eaves of a house. There is a weather vane on the roof of the house. She steps back and writes a note in a book.
"This lady (Miss Norman) is the official Meteorologist for Cape May, New Jersey - and her age (20) makes her the youngest weather official." M/S of Miss Norman in a fur trimmed coat taking rain fall measurement and operating various weather recording equipment. C/U of Miss Norman as she smiles for the camera. "As a contrast, how would Eve like to handle an Elephant or two?" M/S of a female elephant trainer standing outside with three elephants who do a balancing trick.
"The chief essential - nerve! (You need this to lie down whilst, say, Jumbo kneels over you!)" The woman lies on the ground and one of the elephants lies on top of her. The other two elephants stand on the other elephant’s back.
