British Pathe synopsis: "A hobby that grandfather indulged in 50 years ago -" C/U of a man working on a collage. He sticks a small piece of shiny paper onto a depiction of some kind of Roman soldier. "At one time tinsel pictures were quite common," said Mr Webb, Master of the Faculty of Arts, "but nowadays they are very scarce. You started with a plain sketch." M/S of Mr Webb at work. C/Us of his work. "Then gradually you build up the figures with the tinsels of every hue and shape - " Extreme C/U of a piece of tinsel being stuck onto the picture. C/U of a palette of pieces of tinsel. A hat is applied to the picture. Medallions are applied to the bottom of the soldier’s uniform. "Completed, they are very striking - " C/U of the finished picture. Tinsel here means metal paper rather than the Christmas decorations we know.
