Summary
NoS Summary - World’s Fair Circus rehearsals at the Royal Agricultural Hall.
British Pathe synopsis: M/S of six girl acrobats standing in a circus ring holding onto ropes. L/S of the circus ring. The girls climb the ropes and hang down from a trapeze. "Whether you perform on the ground, or "on the wire", intensive practising is essential." A woman in a sparkly trapeze outfit stands in front of the camera, two clowns fool around in the background. Low angle shot of the woman just seen performing on the high wire. She holds a parasol for balance. Worm’s eye view of her performing her tightrope act from below. C/U of clown in a top hat, another clown knocks it off. Low angle of woman walking backwards up the tightrope. She sits on the rope and slides down it. M/S of clown looking up at her. Repeat of the tightrope sliding stunt. She then slides down the rope backwards standing up. When she gets to the bottom she falls into the arms of men standing at the bottom. "No need for Swiss visits for toboggan excitement - try this." Stunt involving a sledge like device, man slides down a chute holding onto a sledge then flies through the air into a net. "In case it was too quick for you, once again." Different angle on the stunt.
