Summary
NoS Summary - Large display of automated toys in a shop at Christmas time.
British Pathe synopsis: "If there’s one thing the festive season brings, it’s the share of delight for the kiddies." Moving camera shots of what seems to be a large exhibition of children’s toys - possibly in a large department store. Various shots of children and the toys on display. Low angle shot of large Father Christmas statue. Children crowd around a display with moving figures. M/S of children watching horses move past them on a track. "The Kingdom of Toyland is the greatest of places to make their eyes glisten, and hearts beat faster." Another automated model is shown. Women hold a large beach ball aloft. Two boxers, one black and one white, move around a ring. C/U of children’s enchanted faces. Two dolls move around in "fitness wheels". Various dolls and mechanised toys are shown including skiers, ice skaters and mountaineers. Two girl dolls appear to dance together. "Many a headache has been earned thinking out all those ingenious attractions for the little ones." Three toy men sit at a table playing little instruments. We see the dancing dolls again. More shots of different toys including cuddly toys with moving heads - an elephant, a monkey, a giraffe, dogs etc.
