Summary
NoS synopsis: Filmed at Formby, Lancashire. "Meet the "Guiders" (Girl Guide Officers) in training." M/S of a group of guides erecting a tent on a campsite. "From small beginnings, the Girl Guide movement has grown until today their camps are dotted throughout the Empire." Panning shot of the camp. "There’s one thing about that outdoor urge - it gets you up early!" M/S of the interior of a tent. One of the girls shakes her friend to wake her up. Two of the girls get up but the other tries to turn over and go back to sleep. Exterior shot, the girls begin to emerge from their tents. They stretch and rub their eyes. L/S of a guide ceremony. The girls stand around as the Union Jack is raised. "Eats" is another urge in the Camp - " L/S of group of girls as they cook on a primitive stove. M/S of another group serving the food. Panning shot of the guides sitting and eating their dinner. "And cheery comradeship - round the Camp fire." The girls sit around the fire and sing a song. They move their legs around in the air. It is some kind of dance with arm movements involved. "...and look at this crowd!" High angle shot of a massive girl guide parade. Hundreds of girls march holding banners.
