Summary

NoS Summary - Making ice cream wafers - the various processes involved.
NoS synopsis: "Wafers moulded while you wait - " C/U of batter being poured into a vat. Portions of batter are pulled out with a special device. "Here a pat, there a pat, Everywhere a pit-pat." M/S of girls at work operating devices similar to waffle irons. C/U of the devices. Wafer mixture is put onto a hot plate and a metal lid is brought down. The machine then turns, edges are scraped off with a knife and the device opened to reveal a batch of wafers. C/U of the thin layer being lifted from the press. It is held up to the camera. Another lot of batter is put into the machine. "That sweet centre has to evolve - (mixed sugar and burnt almonds in this case). C/U of a mixing bowl with a revolving mixing device inside it. M/S of a piece of machinery which spews out some chocolate cream substance. "Who said Eve wouldn’t make a good Plasterer - ?" C/U of a woman standing in front of a large pile of wafers, she spreads the chocolate paste over sheets of wafers. As she finishes each layer she places two more on top. High angle shot of woman places wafers in a mould then through two cutting devices. "One - one - two." The wafers are thus cut into small fingers. C/U of woman packing wafers into small boxes. C/U of a woman eating one of the wafer in a boudoir setting. She holds a saucer with a little silver bowl upon it.
