Summary
NoS Summary - A device which makes doors open automatically is demonstrated.
NoS synopsis: "What a blessing it would be if all our doors opened automatically, with the aid of a beam of light - like this -". M/S of a waitress walking towards a door with a sign that reads: "Service" above it. The "robot door" opens as she approaches, showing a chef standing in the kitchen beyond. The door closes behind her. "Using this door, "Nippy" has less chance of an accident with her trays - " Closer shot of the waitress walking into shot then towards the door. The door opens and closes. C/U of the gadget which operates the door. "This ingenious device relies on a beam of light and a photo-electric cell. When the beam is "broken" by "Nippy" passing, special valve amplifiers start the machine working and the door opens - " Two waitresses walk through the door. Shot from the other side of the door showing the machine which operates the door. Waitress walks through. More shots of the door opening and closing. Shot in a Lyons Corner House.
