Summary
NoS Summary - The way to make hats from crêpe paper is demonstrated.
NoS synopsis: "The latest novelty in crêpe paper - the beach "sunshade-hat". Just a few minutes’ work." M/S of a woman standing behind a table holding a piece of spotty crêpe paper. She sits down and spreads it out on the table. She pins a paper pattern to the crêpe paper and cuts around it - C/U. She then paints glue onto the paper pattern and sticks it to the crêpe paper, making little cuts inside the crown. "Then for a little "she shows she sews". High angle of the woman sewing with a pedal operated sewing machine. She folds around the excess crêpe paper and pulls it through the hole in the top. A crown is then placed over the top of the pulled through paper (we aren’t shown how this part is made). This is sewn on by machine. A dark edging is sewn onto the brim and turned down. "And here you are - the sunshade-hat for river or beach use - " C/U of the woman modelling the hat. Other versions of the hats are modelled. End intertitle invites cinema-goers to write in for a leaflet. "If you would like further details, free of charge send postcard to:- Editor, Eve’s Film Review, 103 Wardour Street, London W1.
