Summary
NoS Summary - children having lessons in the open air.
British Pathe synopsis: Clapham, London. School of health seekers run by the London County Council especially for the benefit of children needing fresh air to build them up. Boys in shorts and no shirts walk along carrying what turn out to be school desks. They put them down in a courtyard and sit down to their lessons. A teacher writes on a blackboard. Boys stand up and put their arms in the air to answer questions. Others write earnestly at their desks. Boys do physical exercises in the playground. We then see girls doing exercises. They wear all in one shorts and top outfits - almost like shorts dungarees, with nothing on underneath. Younger girls sitting at desks with a woman teacher at blackboard in the background. The girls seen are sewing. C/U of the girls hard at work. They have their names embroidered on their tops. Other girls sewing. Girls queue up - for food. Incomplete.
