Summary
NoS Summary - The very latest in swimwear is modelled.
British Pathe synopsis: "Filmed on the Thames Riviera." Introductory intertitle reads: "For ladies only - Adam may glance." L/S of six women in bathing costumes running out of a building with a canopy over its stairs and path. The girls run along in pairs - holding hands. We see them from behind as they run down some stone steps towards the river. "Smartest of garb for the great outdoor call of the sea, pool and river." The girls sit together on what looks like sand and one of them does a cartwheel. C/U of one of the girls posing by a fountain in a belted swimsuit. Camera dissolve into the next model who wears a stripy swimsuit and matching hat. She takes the hat off and fluffs out her hair. One of the other girls takes off a dressing gown affair to show off her cossie. A chequered outfit is modelled. The girl who poses smokes a cigarette and laughs. Another outfit has a diagonal stripe effect. "Stripes, spots, one-piece or two-piece, take your choice of these really chic 1929 designs." The girls lounge around together smoking and splashing each other by the ornamental pond. M/S of the girls at a tea table. They eat sandwiches and drink tea as the camera shows us their swimsuits. The girls chat and laugh.
